The Lions continue to work to secure a strong seed in the playoffs as they defeat neighboring ANC 4-2. Freshman Taryn Mayer scored after eight minutes of play off a pass from sister, Jamie Mayer. Less than four minutes later, Taryn scored for a second time off another assist from Jamie. The Lions finished the first half with a score of 3-1 after a goal from Gianna Venafra and a third assist from Jamie. In the second half, the girls played tough but were only able to score once. Jamie Mayer finally notched her own goal in net off of a corner. Goalie Grace Laudenslager recoreded one save. The LM Field Hockey team is now 11-3 overall and 8-3 in the BAL.

Wednesday October 11th will be the Field Hockey Teams Senior Night. They will honor their seniors and play league rival, Plumstead Christian. Game time is set for 7:00 with pre-game senior ceremonies at 6:45. It will also be featured as the Philadelphia Field Hockey's Game of the Week. Kudos to all those who voted on Twitter and Facebook to make that happen. The team will also be selling drinks and baked goods in the snack stand and all proceeds will go towards the National Foundation for Cancer Research through Play4The Cure. Please wear your pink!
