On Saturday December 8th our wrestling team traveled to Upper Merion High School to face off in the Franny Lutz Holiday Tournament. The team opened up with a thrilling 39-38 win over Martin Luther King HS from Philadelphia. In the semi-finals they squared off against William Tennent and won 45-32. This set up a show down with Glen Mills for the championship. The team fell just short dropping a 39-36 decision to finish in 2nd place. 

Coach Spoerl came away impressed with the way his team wrestled in its first match of the season. Some stand out wrestlers on the day were Cullen Malone who finished 3-0. Caleb Lee and Derek Mironenko were 2-0 on the day as well. 

The team will be back in action twice this week, as they travel to ANC on Thursday at 4:00. On Saturday they will make the trip to Willow Grove to take part in the Upper Moreland Duals. They open up with Upper Moreland at 8 AM.
