The baseball team defeated Calvary Christian Academy 7-0 on Wednesday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Jack Donaker struck out Ian Stowers to finish off the game. The team secured the victory thanks to five runs in the third inning. The offensive onslaught came from singles by Emmitt Cousins and Coleman Peppelman and a double by Connor Duddy.
Matt Haggerty was the winning pitcher for the Lions. He went five and a third innings, allowing zero runs on two hits and striking out ten. Doneker threw one and two-thirds innings in relief out of the bullpen. Doneker recorded the last five outs to earn the save.
The Lions racked up nine hits in the game. Duddy, Haggerty, and Peppelman each collected multiple hits. Peppelman, Haggerty, and Duddy all had two hits.
