Lower Moreland Lions Varsity had everything working on Monday, winning big over MAST Community Charter 9-1. Lower Moreland got things started in the first inning. Connor Duddy homered on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring three runs.
The Lions tacked on four more runs in the sixth inning. The big inning was thanks to a walk by Nick Derderian, a sac fly by John Pryzbylinski, and a double by Tim Kennedy.
John Davies was credited with the victory for Lower Moreland, his first of the season. He allowed three hits and one run over seven innings, striking out ten and walking zero.
Despite the cold and rain the bats were on fire early as the Lions racked up eight hits in the game. Matt Haggerty and Max Cousins all managed multiple hits.
The team is back in action Wednesday at Church Farm School.
