CONWELL-EGAN CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL: 4
The Lower Moreland girls lacrosse team notched their first win of the season, beating Conwell-Egan 9-4. It was an impressive team win as the Lions played aggressively all over the field. Sophomore Paige Malpezzi scored six goals and had one assist, senior Gina Zarzycki scored one goal, and freshman Kylie Tammaro scored two goals. Junior Macy Morozin had an outstanding five ground balls and four draw controls, and sophomore Maggie McGarry and senior Bianca Miriello held it down on defense with four ground balls each. In net, freshman goalie Emily Fee had seven saves.
The JV girls played great but fell short with a score of 4-7. Goals were scored by freshman Sara Asmann with one, freshman Tori Finnegan with two, and sophomore Amanda Kendall with one goal. Goalie Elexa Sauls had 5 saves. The Lions look to add another win today at Lansdale Catholic.
Next week, come on out to the LM vs ANC game on Wednesday at 3:30pm on the turf. The girls will wear purple ribbon and come together with ANC for domestic abuse awareness. Wear your purple and consider bringing a donation for Laurel House. Donations include paper towels, toilet paper, grocery store gift cards, cleaning supplies, and individually wrapped snacks.”
