Lower Moreland 59, Council Rock South 56 (2 OTs) Lower Moreland won a wild 59-56 decision over Council Rock South in the opening round of the Hatboro-Horsham Tip-Off Tournament and also the season opener for both teams on Friday. In typical Lower Moreland fashion the boys played together as a team, played scrappy defense, and hit big shots in timely fashion. The Lions had 4 players reach double figures in the points category. The Lions trailed 12-9 after one quarter. However the Lions rallied to knot the score 23-23 at halftime.The game was still tied at 48-48 after regulation as CR South hit a 3 pointer with .7 seconds left to send the game to Overtime. There wasn't much scoring in the first overtime and with the score tied 50-50, the Lions defense held strong on the final possession to send te game into double OT. Lower Moreland was able to put it away by outscoring the Golden Hawks 9-6 in the second overtime. All nine of Lower Moreland’s points came at the foul line. Shane Cohen paced Lower Moreland with a team-high 14 points followed by Jordan Zoubroulis with 13.
